Our Lady of Hope Catholic Retreat Center has become very special to me over the past year as I got to know a very special priest named Fr. Mark Beard. His very powerful sermons caught my eye online, and I began sharing his homilies with you on my Instagram. Sadly, he passed away in a tragic car accident after delivering a poignant message about always being ready, because we never know the hour we will be called home. He said, the nanosecond it happens, it will be too late! He begged his brothers and sisters of St. Helena Parish to be ready. Our sessions will focus on the apparitions of Our Lady and the ways we can be ready in our daily lives.
It is in honor of this holy priests' dream and vision that we will be holding this special pilgrimage/retreat at the center he founded: Our Lady of Hope Catholic Retreat Center in Osyka, Mississippi, just north of Kentwood, Louisiana. You can easily get there within 1:30 minutes of the New Orleans Airport; Jackson, Ms. Airport; and Baton Rouge, La. Airport. The first 200 people to register will be able to stay on the grounds, but there are also several hotels in the McComb, Ms. area. We recommend the Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn, Baymont by Wyndam, and Holiday Inn Express in McComb, Mississippi. Local residents are encouraged to commute if they would like.
