Covering the cost of a Retreat

The goal of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Retreat Center is to build & design a Shrine to Our Lady with the simple goal of educating our families in the Teachings & Traditions of Mother Church. The grounds, with numerous gardens planned for the near future will be directed to the Understandings & Wisdom of our Catholic Faith. The Shrine also offers the opportunity to stay the night(s) for contemplative discernments, Catholic retreats or simply, to be still and pray.

The Board of Directors has determined the bare bones cost of a retreat experience is $350.00.  This amount does not consider any costs associated with the maintenance of the buildings or any capital improvements.  Many find the value that they receive from a Retreat experience to far exceed the $350.00 amount.

In the spirit of helping Our Lady of Hope plan for future growth and to possibly help someone that might have financial concerns attend this Retreat Experience you can…

Planned Giving

Planned Giving is a charitable gift that you plan now to give in the future.  Examples of planned Gifts are:

  • Bequests – You can designate Our Lady of Hope in your will for a specific amount, a percentage, or as a residual beneficiary. You would have to plan this with your attorney.

  • In Memory Of – Please mail memorial donations to:
    Our Lady of Hope
    PO BOX 130
    Osyka, Ms.  39657

    Please include:
    (1) The name of the deceased person
    (2) The name and address of the family member to receive an acknowledgment
A card will be mailed to the family member and donor.

  • Charitable Gift Annuity – you can transfer to Our Lady of Hope cash or appreciated property; in exchange, we pay you a fixed income for the rest of your life. At your death, Our Lady of Hope gets what is left.

  • Charitable Remainder Trust – Similar to a Charitable Gift Annuity; for larger gifts; you can control the investment of the trust assets for the rest of your life. At your death, Our Lady of Hope gets what is left in the trust.

  • Life Insurance – If you have life insurance that you no longer need, you can name Our Lady of Hope as the beneficiary (in whole or in part) of your policy. If you donate the ownership of your policy to Our Lady of Hope you could get a current Income Tax deduction.

  • IRA and 401K Beneficiary Designations – you could name Our Lady of Hope as a beneficiary of your IRA or 401K plan (in whole or in part). Since Our Lady of Hope is a tax-exempt organization, it would not have to pay the income tax that your heirs would have to pay on IRA & 401K payouts.
